Obstacles are frequent emergencies in trailer driving course. The common obstacles include trailer axles fracture, engine breakage and etc. They all lead to vehicle break down directory. When such situation is run into, it often requires rescue car dragging or helps from professional rescue center. In fact, there are many matters that need to be paid attention to during trailer rescue.

Firstly, critical to ensure two cars hang tightly.

Car owner should foremost be clear that obstacle cars rescued by common cars mainly refer to manual model cars. Auto model cars are not appropriate to apply dragging rescue and should better be processed by rescue center with professional experience. When it comes to condition of self dragging out of force, it is required to uplift driving wheels. If driving wheel gets no way to be uplifted, pay attention to control car speed at 30km per hour. Be sure to set gear in neutral and keep driving distance within 50km. This kind of treatment is basically feasible.

During the dragging course, the basic principle for car owners to keep is two cars should hang tightly. This point is much critical. The first step is to hang steel wire rope on obstacle trailer dragging hook and then tie it to the same side dragging hook on rescue car. So, if obstacle trailer is of right dragging hook, rescue car also must be right dragging hook. When steel wire rope or ion train are used to make traction, keep traction car intensively contacted with the back car at any time and the traction rope taut instead of flabby all the time. During operation, traction car must cater to road condition at the same time of attending to back car passing through.

Secondly, hard trailer stem is superior than soft trailer rope.

In general condition, self-prepared trailer tool has two types. One is commonly applied trailer rope and another is hard trailer stem. Trailer stem is the best choice out of consideration no matter from safety aspect or application effect. Following its reasons, it is because when two vehicles are connected by hard trailer stem, obstacle car can well avoid dumping into front traction car when traction car drags too fiercely or brakes suddenly. Especially when obstacle car brake comes up with problem, it's more necessary to use hard trailer stem. By the same principle, hard trailer stem is also an irreplaceable choice in icy and snowy road rescue.

At present, there are abundant trailer ropes on sale in the market. Its advantage is portable, non space taking and lighter than trailer stem. Trailer stem average weight is 3.5kg and trailer rope weight is only 1kg. Also, trailer rope installation is much simple which can fix on any trailer ring by dragging hook. Additionally, some trailer ropes are fluorescent. What's more, there is always marked with maximum traction weight on trailer rope package. Thus, when the obstacle car is much heavy and it's difficult to judge trailer rope burden capacity by self, car owners should not act in adventure.

Thirdly, keep safe driving distance and speed.

After well hang trailer tools, it's the start of dragging. At this time, obstacle car should turn on obstacle light or show marked ‘obstacle car' signal on car tail in the case of fail light for electricity running out to mention back cars avoidance. When dragging cars, driver should have ‘safe distance' concept. In dragging speed of 20km per hour, back car must be ensured of enough braking distance in case of sudden braking from front car. Commonly, the safe distance is 5 to 7 meters when dragging on asphalt or cement road. The safe distance should be accordingly prolonged for dragging on asphalt, cement road with water or mud road. Thus, the ideal trailer rope length is 5 to 11 meters.

Except for safety distance, it's also much critical about driving speed. When obstacle vehicle can't start, its brake is basically invalid since engine doesn't operate and brake is non vacuum pressurized. In this condition, trailer can only drive slowly. Otherwise, obstacle car is quietly likely to dump forward in condition of encountering front car sudden stoppage.
